About WS DrumSmokers

A proven competition bbq team with multiple championships and category wins. We began cooking on drums and went a couple different directions before returning to them. We have cooked on several of the more popular drums and done very well with them. We don't have a bad thing to say about any of them, For us we have somewhat different needs than our American counterparts and felt a need for a Europe specific smoker. We began with a kit to get our dimensions and never looked back. The current model(HB01) has been two years in the making. Many different things were tried until we got to what we are proud to offer to consumers. The differences are small but important. The HB01 is lighter and use only high quality German steel. Examples were taken from other industries to lighten them While we can't make Carbon Fiber parts for them yet we have made significant weight reductions. An example of this would be the actual drums we use. We have had a bit of luck in that we live in close proximity to a barrel manufacturer rather than a resaler. As a result we are able to mix and match Drums and lids. Our current setup uses 0.8mm steel for the drum and 1mm steel for the barrel. This weight savings is not tremendous but along with a few other things we have managed to make them as light as we feel comfortable with without sacrificing durability.
